3 Techniques for Vintage Cards

I am Dhruvika @the_cardogram, today I am sharing three techniques to create three vintage cards.
Since the theme of the Craftangles Monthly Challenge is Vintage, thus I decided to see what exactly makes the cards vintage and thus I made three cards using Craftangles supplies.

Monthly Challenge - May 2022

1st Technique for vintage cards:

For my first card, I used the technique of Sepia, which can be used on any image by using very minimal supplies. Here in my card, I stamped the image from the Craftangles Happily Ever After stamp set and the sentiments on to the Craftangles Kraft Cardstock using the Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and then colored the image using the alcohol markers in shades of pink for the flower and brown for the leaves. These colors change on to the Kraft cardstock and look very beautiful. After I was happy with the coloring I ink blended the Distress Ink in Tea Dye starting from the corners and finally, I trimmed the panel in the measurement of 4x 5.25 inches and adhered on to the white side folding note card using the liquid adhesive.

Lastly, I splattered the Distress Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood to add a little ineterest.

2nd technique for vintage cards:

Generally you would see that a lot vintage cards have a lot of layering and a lot of textures. The colors used are pastels with a pop of bright color. So I exploited the same technique here. For my second card, I trimmed a panel measuring 4.25×5.5 inches of the Crfatangles Old Lace Cardstock and passed it through the Damask Stencil by Craftangles which was my first layer. Then I die cut a rectangles from the Craftangles Earl Gray Cardstock running through the largest stitched rectangles basic shape die by Craftangles. And finally die cut the second largest rectangle from the same stitched rectangle die cut and stamped the Craftangles Script stampset using the Distress in Vintage Photo. I then smooshed some Tea Dye Distress Ink to add some interest. That is how three layers of the card were created.

Finally, I stamped the flower from Craftangles Everyday sentiment onto the CrafTangles Dual Texture White Cardstock and colored it in various shades of pink which would pop against the pastel background and fussy cut it,

I stamped the sentiments on to the Craftangles Black Cardstock using the Versamark Clear Embossing ink and heat embossed using the White Embossing Powder and die cut it from the Craftangles Wave Die cut smallest die.

I assembled all the layers as shown in the picture. I added some scraps of the eaves previously die , you can also use the Craftangles element sheet instead of the flowers and leaves here.

The third technique that I am using is the focus of the large monochromatic image. You would have seen the use of the large black image on to the brown background. So for this card, I stamped the Craftangles Script stamp suing the Distress Ink in Tea Dye and then ink blended the Distress Ink in Weathered Wood. I the stamped the large image of the dad-son from the Craftangles Dad My Super Hero using the black Dye Ink and kept the sentiments simple DAD because the image is so simple and so expressive.

I trimmed this panel in the size 4 x.5.25 inches and adhered it onto the Craftangles Navy Blue Cardstock notecard measuring 425×5.5 inches. I finished the look by splattering some White Paint to add that vintage look.
