4 steps to make Decoupage Diary/Book quickly

Hello Everyone,
Arpita here, today I will share with you all on how to make DIY decoupage diary or book.. Have combined 2 different kinds of Decoupage papers today in my project. Have used the burning technique to blend my Decoupage paper with the 3 ply Decoupage tissue.

Here is a brief tutorial on how to make decoupage diary/decoupage book

Have chosen the Abstract Ethnic Prints Decoupage paper from Craftangles and a 3ply tissue that I felt would go well with the paper and they would complement each other.

Step – 1

Have primed the surface of my Dairy with the snow White chalk paint. Then stuck the tissue diagonally
Using the Decoupage glue.

Step – 2

Using a lighter I burnt the edge of the paper to achieve an organic, beautiful distressed look.

Step – 3

Again using the Decoupage glue stuck the other half of the book with the paper. Using a sandpaper sanded of the extra papers to achieve a clean edge.

Step – 4

Gave it a top coat using the Decoupage glue then once the glue dried, sealed it with a coat of clear varnish.
For the binding of the book stuck a strip of burlap and using the air dry clay made a bookmark to go with the diary which made a beautiful embellishment as well.

3. Chalk paint – Snow white
4. Decoupage Paper-Abstract Ethnic Prints
5. Gilding Flakes
