Love is in the Air

Its the start of February and the only thing that comes to my mind is St. Valentines :).. Well so this month I am planning to post all those lovey dovey cards I made for my customers past month and this..So without any further wait lets get back to the card.. This card was not on order but a gift to my office colleague on her  wedding.. She has been a huge support to me in my new office and we are sort of gossip queens.. Put us in a single room and we can go on for hours 🙂 .. Well so I couldn’t resist makin a card for her looking at our history together :).. Congratulation once again dear in case you are reading my post :)..
Love is in the Air 1

The center image is from Lily Of The Valley.. I just love their stamps and I have hoarded them like crazy in this past year :).. I have colored the image using my Water color pencils and Sakura Koi Water brush. I have used Spellbinder dies for the cutting..Now here is a tip for those crafters who are as impatient as me.. When I sat to work on this card I did not have a jet black cardstock which I wanted and I don’t have patience to wait for the time till I get one.. So what I did was I took the larger die cut piece which was white in color and distressed the corners with Tim Holtz black soot distress ink.. Done waste your inks in covering the entire piece just do the area which will be shown.. This is a very quick way to get the matching colors to your images hope you guys use it too..

Now back to the card.. Here are the images from different angles –

Love is in the Air 2
This is the background of the card.. The white cardstock is from Lotus.. Then I again distressed another white cardstock with BlackSoot to get the Jet black color.. Then I added some of the tapes which you get in medical shop to add a bit of torn edged to the card.. The pink patterned paper is from PaperMainia.. The blue cardstock however is a music stamp stamped with StazOn and the distressed with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Ink.. The lavender ribbon is again from stash..
Love is in the Air 3
I have used calendar stamp which is from Lily of the Valley.. For the swirls I have used spellbinder die.. The hemispherical pearls are bought from CraftAdda.. All the embellishment which I have used here are actually clay and not paper flowers :D.. Have a closer look.. Now that I have got something new to play with you will see more and more clay entering my projects :).. So what I have done is used my clay molds with the Mungyo Air Dry Clay.. All I had to do was remove some of the clay put it in the mold.. wait for it to dry and then just remove it.. The molds are so flexible that the details I get is simply amazing :).. The only thing you need to take care is to store the remaining of Air Dry Clay in a air tight container or simply tape back the packet again.. Because the clay hardens quickly in air.. Then I colored my molds using acrylic paints.. The molds I have user here are for flowers and button..

Finally in this image you can actually see the glitter I have added to her gown.. For the glitter I have used Tim Holtz Rock Candy Stickles .. Now to inside of the the card –
Love is in the Air 7
I have kept the inside fairly simple with one of my favorite stamp till date for the wedding..
Phew .. seems quiet a long post.. Anyways wont bore you with more of it ..
Have A great Day and be Inspired .. Happy Crafting
