Simple Birthday Cards using Watercolor Paper

Hello Everyone,
I am Swapna Nair from Magic Paper Pixie  today I am sharing some fun and easy Zodiac Sign birthday cards. These cards are so much fun and easy to make that I was totally lost in the process and ended with 6 cute little cards.

The best part about these zodiac cards are these are totally neutral and can be gifted to anyone. These zodiac signs are really versatile and can be used on different kinds of background or made into a pattern.

Let me also remind you check out our monthly challenge and participate to win exciting gifts. The theme for this month’s challenge is Flowers or Women’s Day.

These cards are so quick and simple to make that I ended up with 6 cards in barely any time. For the first set of cards I used the craftangles watercolor paper smooth and some distress inks . I used a piece of acetate sheet which is smaller than the size of the cardstock and smooshed 3 distress inks on the acetate . I then spritzed water on the acetate sheet generously and put it down on the watercolor paper. The three different colors merge very smoothly.

I repeated the same process for the next set of cards with distress oxide inks and the back ground was equally pretty.

I then used versamark ink on these backgrounds to stamp the zodiac image and the sentiment Happy Birthday . After this I heat set the image with sparkling gold and metallic silver embossing powders by WOW.

On the next set of water colored backgrounds I simply used a black memento ink to stamp the image and the sentiment. This gives the card a very different look but equally pretty.

For the last card I used simple distress oxide inks and blended it to mimic a night sky, I then stamped the zodiac image and sentiment with versamark ink and heat set it with golden embossing powder.

For all the cards I finally splattered some diluted black ink and a shimmer spray before finally mounting them on card panels.

So there! Hope you liked this cardmaking process and I hope I inspired you to try out these techniques.
