Some mixed media mini ATCs using CrafTangles products

Hello Artists,

Khyati here and today I am sharing my first attempt at mixed media ATC’s. I was not completely sure If I will be able to make them successfully but I was really happy with how they turned out. The best part I used all scraps to make them, so again super happy 🙂

Unfortunately I dont have a video of this for you as I was not sure If I will be able to make them, but I will take you through the process.

1) I started with 2 long strips of sturdy black chipboard scraps I had and then add Cool Jade and Funky Fern Chalky paints on it. Make sure you use something sturdy for base, anything below 300 gsm is a big no. Mixed media as the name suggests where you add tons of items on top of one and another of mixed mediums hence the base you use should always be sturdy. I wanted a matte look on my ATC’s as later I will be adding gloss medium to it hence I choose CrafTangles chalky paint as they are super matter.
2) Once dry I used 2 stencils from CrafTanglesFlourish and Ornamental Lace to apply newly launched CrafTangles Soft gloss medium. So what this does is creates a tone on tone effect but with gloss, however since this is soft gloss medium it doesnt hold its peaks that well, so I will be eagerly waiting for some heavy gloss medium by CrafTangles 🙂 However it does give you a really cool texture.
3) Once that is dry its time to stick elements, for elements I have used Vintage Rosette element packs and added some twine and laces along with it. Since the whole idea was to use scraps, all these items were left overs from my earlier projects. I have also used some old paper scraps I had lying around. 4) So once my focal points were ready all I had to do was stick some cool sentiments, and for this my absolute favorites are Tim Holtz big chat and small talk sticker’s that I have added on all ATC’s and have embellished with some glitter drops.

Here are some close up’s of all ATCs, hope you enjoyed today’s post and we inspired you to try something new.
