Hi! I’ve made Origami boxes and patterned paper envelopes using Craftangles patterned paper for my DT post today!

Here is my inspiration for the Craftangles monthly ‘Patterned paper’ challenge.

I have a full start to finish video up on the HNDMD youtube channel showing how I made these Origami boxes and envelopes using Craftangles Patterned papers. Its been fun to make something different this time.

Origami boxes.

Aditi Deo of The Doodle Factory had an Instagram Live class recently where she demonstrated how to make cute little Origami Boxes. This inspired me to make my own.

You can see my start to finish video on the HNDMD Youtube channel or search for simple Origami boxes online for a tutorial. They are really simple to make especially with Craftangles 6″x6″ patterned papers.

One tip

For the lid of the box, your paper should measure to 15cms square and for the bottom of the box it should measure 14cms square. That way the bottom fits into the top nicely.

These boxes are perfect for small gifts!

I’ve used Craftangles ‘Timeless Treasures’, Craftangles ‘Colours of India’, Craftangles ‘Autumn Harvest’ and Craftangles ‘Papa Kehte hain’ patterned papers .

I added one of the little tags that were included in the ‘Papa Kehte Hain’ as an embellishment to the little masculine box, and little gold and silver bells along with a thin jute cord.

Patterned paper envelopes

For the envelopes, I started with patterned papers from the above mentioned paper packs. I used my largest circle die to die cut some circle out of the patterned paper.

I folded each circle in half and adhered them together to make a overlapping envelope.

One tip

I used the lines on the blue wood textured patterned paper, to line up the half folded circles before I adhered them. Actually, you can use any ruled paper to align the folded circles while adhering them. If they are not adhered straight, they will not close and overlap to form an envelope.

I have made a video showing how I made them, up on the HNDMD Youtube channel. You can se it HERE.

To make it interesting, I cut and folded some white cardstock to size and adhered it to the inside of these envelopes. To add interest, I die cut a small square from the left over scraps and adhered it to the front of the card.
