3 Cards in 30 Minutes Using CrafTangles Stencils

Happy Monday!

It’s Shabneez here and I hope you’re looking forward to the week ahead!  You know, so often have to make a few cards but don’t have a lot of time to spend on them, yet I still want them to look good.  In this post I show you how, with the help of a stencil, sentiment stamp and distress inks you can make 3 beautiful cards in just 30 minutes.

The hardest choice I had to make was which stencils to use as there are so many CrafTangles stencils that I wanted to use!  Anyway, I settled on three and put them all on a sheet of A3 watercolour paper.  I then inked them using distress inks and spritzed them with water.  I left them to dry naturally as it didn’t take long but you could use a heat gun to speed up the process even more.

While the images were drying, I chose co-ordinating CrafTangles cardstock and cut to the sizes I wanted my card bases.

For my first card, I cut a 4″x4″ square from the stencil background and adhered it to the 5″x5″ blue card blank.  I cut another strip to go across the card and heat embossed a sentiment.  To finish I added a few sequins.

For my next card I fussy cut around the stencil, it didn’t take long at all and I folded it in half and adhered it to the card base.  I heat embossed a sentiment and added faux pearls to embellish.

For my final card I used a stitched die to cut away a part of the stencil background and adhered it to the card.  I stamped an image and added bakers twine to embellish.

I think you’ll agree the stencil backgrounds really don’t need a great deal of embellishments to make them look effective and the coloured cardstock makes them ‘pop’ even more.
Hopefully, this post will make you reach for your stencils the next time you want to make a a few quick yet effective cards.
See you again next month hopefully with some festive makes!
