Hello Everyone ,
This is Swapna from Magic Paper Pixie. Today I have a different set of cards for you guys .

I wanted to try my hands at making some simple masculine themed cards , and then I realised that Father’s day is just about a month away , so why not make a few cards for the occasion.

Also a quick reminder for all of you that this months challenge is Vintage or  Shabby Chic.  Do join the monthly challenge ,we would love to see your take on the vintage /shabby chic theme. Monthly Challenge May 2021

For my first card today I used one of the character stamps from the stamp set called “People of India”. I transformed the image a bit by masking parts of the stamp to cover this Uncle’s cap. The transformed image looked like an uncle without his cap and somehow resembled my dad . I was quite thrilled with the transformation and simply coloured it with copics and adhered it on a water coloured card panel.

For the second card I used the stencil hexagonal stacks and placed it diagonally on the panel . I then blended a distress oxide colors like wilted violet , peacock feathers and twisted citron. I wanted the focal point of the card to be the sentiment along with the die cut alphabets “DAD” . I applied some glossy accents on the die cut alphabets to give it more interest .I placed this ink blended panel on a gold mirror cardstock before adhering it on a A2 size card . To give some final touches to the card I used a thin sliver of gold mirror card stock along the stencilled background with sequins.

For the final card , I used the image from the stamps my superhero . I simply stamped the image on a panel and did some basic coloring with topics. I then used the circles stencils by craft angles and lightly went over the same with broken china distress oxide ink.

Since I was on a roll I decide to use the other DAD stamp set by craft angles which is 2*3 inches, but this time instead of a card I decided to make a tag / bookmark .I used the craftangles watercolour paper for the same and stamped distress oxide ink directly on the paper . The colors I used were Picked Raspberry , Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey .I then spritzed some water on the colors to let the colors spread on the paper . Once the colors dried , I them stamped the sentiment on the tag using archival ink. For the final touch I used some stickles (gold) over the tag and embellished it with sequins and added a shimmery ribbon through the eyelet .
